Shabbat and Sukkot Celebration

On Friday, October 6th, come together with other JSCA members to celebrate Shabbat and Sukkot at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 801 Charlotte Hwy, Fairview. The JSCA Social Justice committee invites you to this special celebration.

6:30pm Come before the Shabbat service to help decorate the sukkah. Bring corn cobs and stalks, vegetables, and gourds; string and scissors will be available to hang items.

7:00pm Go to the sanctuary for our monthly Shabbat service. At the end of the service, Sharon Blythe, Volunteer Services Director, at Homeward Bound, a non- profit organization that helps people who are homeless move into permanent housing in Buncombe and Henderson Counties, will speak with a short time for Q&A.

8:00ish Return to the sukkah for our Oneg. The evening may be cool, please wear clothing in layers to keep you comfortable outdoors.

The Social Justice committee is also requesting donated items for Homeward Bound.            

We are seeking the following:

Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Garbage Bags, All Purpose Cleaner, Mops and Brooms, Laundry Detergent, Shower Curtain, rings and liner, Dish washing soap, Deodorant, Bar Soap, Shampoo and conditioner, Tooth brush and toothpaste
